Energy resilience is a growing priority for industries facing increasing grid constraints. A recent high-demand testing scenario at Dale Power Solutions demonstrated the critical role of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in maintaining seamless operations and avoiding grid overload.
On the 19th February, site consumption surged to 266kW - 74kW over the 192kW grid connection limit. Without intervention, this would have led to alarms, emergency load shedding, and operational disruption. However, with an onsite BESS providing 95kW, only 171kW was drawn from the grid, ensuring continued operations without exceeding limits.
This real-world example showcases how BESS technology enhances energy security, optimises power usage, and supports businesses in managing grid constraints effectively. As industries prepare for future energy challenges, smart BESS deployment and proactive Energy Management Systems are key to maintaining stability and efficiency.
