Intasite helps 'open eyes' to STEM careers

A Teesside-based technology firm has opened its doors to inspire the next generation of STEM leaders through an interactive work experience day for year 9 students.
Intasite, which specialises in streamlining safety and site access for critical industries, has collaborated with the Power of Women’s (POW) Female Empowerment Programme.
It says the alliance provided a “valuable insight” into the tech industry, helping “break down gender stereotypes” and offering “inspiration for future career paths”.
Students from North Shore Academy explored decision-making, financial planning, environmental sustainability, entrepreneurship and female leadership, while finding out about career opportunities in the digital and tech sectors.
The hands-on day also provided students with the opportunity to create their own health and safety induction video for Stockton’s LevelQ commercial office space, showcasing real-world applications of technology.
Danielle Croce, Intasite commercial director, said: “We hope the students enjoyed their time with us and found inspiration for their future career paths.
“They were a fantastic group to work with, and we had a wonderful afternoon sharing insights into the tech industry.”
This initiative builds on Intasite’s commitment to youth opportunities, including a collaboration with Middlesbrough College, which led to the hire of Kayhan Kajumi, the firm’s first software developer apprentice.

“Helping them turn their ideas into a professional health and safety video was a rewarding experience, and we hope it gave them valuable insight into the possibilities within the tech and digital industries."
Claire Preston, POW head of operations, added: “This is exactly the kind of day that young people need.
“The aim of POW is to motivate equality of opportunity and break down gender stereotypes, showing students what is possible regardless of gender or postcode.
“The way that Intasite engaged with the students to really excite them about their business and work was brilliant and hugely appreciated.”
