Sandvik sets the pace at Gastech 2019

Sandvik is returning to the Gastech conference and exhibition again this year with a focus on its hydraulic and instrumentation (H&I) and heat exchanger ranges.
Products featured include H&I, heat exchanger and high temperature tubing ranges as well as the machinability-improved Sanmac 304 and Sanmac 316 austenitic stainless steels. Both grades offer excellent machinability and high resistance to corrosion on oil rig and petrochemical plant applications – including those that may cause stress cracking, pitting and crevice problems.
These ranges are particularly suitable in situations where there is a need to boost output without compromising on safety, while also avoiding any unscheduled downtime, leaks and the potential for accidents involving personnel.
In addition, visitors to Sandvik stand number T160 will have the opportunity to meet with the product and technical teams to discuss the company’s material capabilities.

“We know that selecting the best tube material for H&I applications is not an easy process as there are many aspects that need careful attention. The ability of the material to cope with highly corrosive environments, such as tropical marine climates on offshore platforms and ships is of vital importance. As well as climate considerations, ensuring the tube dimensions and wall thickness are all correct to meet the installation requirements can also be a tricky balancing act for specifiers.

Visitors to the Sandvik stand will also have the chance to see the world’s first, all metal smash proof guitar, which was created by the company’s engineers who sought to use sustainable, cutting-edge techniques to make something both highly precise and extremely durable. The guitar was put to the test by Swedish guitar virtuoso Yngwie Malmsteen.

Malmsteen, named as one of the ten greatest electric guitar players in the world by TIME Magazine, is known for his virtuoso performances - as well as the fury he unleashes on his guitars.
