Van Oord celebrates Boreas’s christening at Global Offshore Wind

Will you be joining the Global Offshore Wind exhibition in London? Visit Van Oord on the 18th of June at booth E36 to celebrate the christening of its offshore installation vessel, Boreas.
While the christening will occur at 11:00 AM (CEST) in the Netherlands, you can visit Van Oord’s booth in London throughout the day to make a champagne toast, see a Boreas scale model, enjoy a virtual tour onboard, and learn more about the 175-metre-long vessel, the largest of its kind! Able to lift over 3,000 tonnes and work in waters up to 70 metres deep, Boreas will be able to install the next generation of 20 MW offshore wind turbines at sea.
It is the first offshore installation vessel powered by methanol, allowing for a reduction of over 78% in its carbon footprint and showcasing Van Oord’s commitment to the energy transition.
